Welcome & Introduction

Welcome to this 2017 autumn edition of Collaborative Insight featuring the Collaborative Working in Aerospace event held at the RAF Museum, Hendon.

As reported in the previous edition of Collaborative Insight interest continues to grow in Collaborative Working as a professional business discipline since publication of ISO 44001. As before this is evidenced by growing demand for Collaborative Working training courses and ICW Executive Network membership growth.

ICW is delighted to welcome 4 new Executive Network members since the previous issue of Collaborative Insight:

  • BM Trada - an International certification & assessment organisation
  • HMRC - H M Revenue & Customs
  • Thales - the French aerospace, defence, transportation and security organisation
  • WYG - the International professional services organisation

ICW has initiated the first special interest group focused on smaller businesses led by Dr Andrew Dixon from SVGC. Interestingly the ISO 44001 Technical Committee is also addressing this issue led by Italy supported by the USA. This most important topic aims to facilitate the realisation of the business benefits through effective collaborative working throughout the value chain. More details will be published as specific initiatives emerge.

ICW has drawn up the outline events plan throughout 2018 which will be refined and published as the details for each are finalised. The final 2017 event is the annual ICW Collaboration Awards sponsored by BSI at the House of Lords on the evening of 12th December. The schedule for 2018 is:

  • 28 March - Collaboration & Innovation Imperial College, London
  • 10 May - Annual House of Lords Collaborative Working Reception
  • June - Collaboration in Oil & Gas – Scotland (Provisional)
  • July - Collaborative Working in the Digital Economy (Provisional)
  • October - Collaborative Working & Smaller Businesses (Provisional)
  • December - Annual Collaborative Working Awards – House of Lords

ICW looks forward to welcoming Executive Network members and their guests to these events.
