The beginning of the year saw the MOD's Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), who received their ISO 44001 certification back in March 2017 - the first government organisation to do so as a complete entity - go through their first and very rigorous surveillance visit by BSI, with flying colours. This was a great achievement, and ISO 44001 is now embedded throughout the DIO as a fundamental project enabler, and a major part of the Future DIO structure and business strategy.

In addition to the detailed coaching work with the DIO, Bill Taylor continued with his extensive DIO Collaborative Working Practitioner training programme, providing another 6 courses again, getting outstanding reviews: "the best MOD course ever attended". Through 2017 the focus for the DIO collaborative work has been in "Service Delivery" for major Hard and Soft FM contracts. From the start of 2018 the work with the DIO developed further building on the pilot activity in Dec 17 with another Major Construction Project workshop, bringing the DIO Principle Service Provider, the D&B Contractor and the DIO together, to develop further the DIO approach to 2 Stage Contracting for critical and high profile major projects to support the extensive Army Basing Programme.
